Dave and Matt Double up on Trout near Eagle Rock on the Upper McKenzie River. Late Summer - Early Fall Trout provide great action for fishermen of any level on the majestic McKenzie River near Eugene, Oregon. Matt Dickerson and his buddy Dave O'Hara set an all-time record for trout landed on a single day's drift while enjoying the gorgeous scenery along the Upper McKenzie last week. Dave & Matt landed over 120 trout, all on flies, wet & dry. The guys put on an amazing fly fishing clinic, the likes of which may never again be duplicated. At trip's end, Matt complained of a sore arm, but tempered the complaint adding that it was a "good kind of sore."

Ron & Jen Mirabile had a great late season trip for McKenzie River Salmon. Apparently under duress, Jen had only reluctantly agreed to a fishing trip with her husband Ron. If memory serves correctly, she ended up the "hot hooker" of a trip that yielded limits for everyone. Rumor even has it that we may very well see her again!

Spring Chinook and Summer Steelhead fishing on the McKenzie remains excellent. We were tagged out on Springers yesterday by 11:00 am with 4 adults and a Jack salmon to boot.
