On Saturday we ran a half-day trip down the McKenzie River casting double dries.

As fall approaches we are often focused on the many chores necessary to prepare for the winter. Still, it is one of the most diverse times of the year for fishermen in terms of options.

On Tuesday I ran yet another trout trip fly fishing the scenic upper McKenzie River. I had father and son from Nevada on board.

We escaped the heat this past week by hitting some whitewater stretches on the upper Mckenzie River while chasing after the abundant hatchery trout that consistently smashed our flies.

We are still picking up Spring Chinook salmon on the McKenzie River 30 minutes east of Eugene, Oregon.

With the total number of salmon in the Willamette system still very low for this time of year, are running some alternative McKenzie River trout trips.
