McKenzie River Steelhead fishing is on the jump!

We had decent results on our  Steelhead fishing trips this past week here on the McKenzie River located just east of the Eugene/Springfield are in Oregon's plush and green Willamette Valley.  We ran two half-day trips and found biters on both drifts.  We hit 3 chromers on the the first day's outing and then landed 2 more on next trip.  We were very pleased with these results in a highwater, sub-par fish count year.  Numbers should continue to increase as our season is really just getting started.  All the local rivers should produce good action as river levels eventually drop and stabalize.  These rivers include the McKenzie, the South Santiam, and the Middlefork Willamette.  Fish have ranged between 6 and 12 lbs, averaging about 8lbs.
