After some tougher fishing last week and a couple pretty lean scouting trips on the Willamette and South Santiam this past weekend, I was overjoyed to find a pack of aggressive biters yesterday on the McKenzie River.  My guests Jim & Ron were equally tickled to go 5 for 7 on Steelhead and got a taste of some catch and release salmon action to round out the day.  During a late morning shore break, we climbed a hill and spotted some fish in a glassy tailout.  It was clear that stealth in approach and presentation would be mandatory.  We devised and executed a plan that worked like a charm.....FISH-ON !
