Happiness is a Fresh Winter Steelhead

Most of our rivers are in favorable condition as of this posting. Numerous anglers reported good results on the Siuslaw this past week. Though crowded at times, the Whitaker run produced some decent catches early this past week. As the river dropped, fishermen did well down lower on the mainstem of the Siuslaw. The Coquille system continues to kick out some fish as does the Umpqua where hatchery fish remain a minority of the catch. The Elk and Sixes had some very good days earlier this past week for winter run native steelhead, but both rivers need rain to raise the levels and bring in new fish.
