Springer season coming to a close

Posted 19 Jul 2005 - 5:33am

As we move into late July with 90 degree days, I fear our Spring Chinook season is finally on the "Ebb". We did however, bring 3 nice ones to the boat today including a 19 pounder. We also spanked a 9lb steelhead while flyfishing on one of my home-tied specials. The river level here on the McKenzie is down while the water temperature is up. This makes for very skittish fish with a less-than-aggressive posture.
