Story from Roaring Fork Guide Service

Early June Action

Fishing the last couple days was tough. My guests were good fishermen with good patience and great attitudes. On Thursday we landed 3 on the McKenzie, two Springers and a steelhead. The steelhead stole the show, measuring a solid 33 inches at about 12lbs. The acrobatics during the fight were definitely video worthy, but a heavy downpour precluded any camera use. On Friday we had managed only one Spring Chinook by 10:30 am on the Mckenzie River. To mix things up, we pulled out and jumped over to the Willamette for the afternoon. It was a welcome change of scenery, and by pull-out time we had evened the score with one more hatchery Springer in the box.
