McKenzie Dry-Fly Fishing

On Saturday we ran a half-day trip down the McKenzie River casting double dries. The action was non-stop for feisty native Redsides trout. By trip's end we had landed about thirty and lost twice that. The river is beautiful this time of year and other boats and other fishermen really scarce. Larger fish ran up to 17 inches and took us down to our backing. This is a great time of year to think about trout while everybody else is scouting for hunts and chasing tidal salmon.
