Story from Roaring Fork Guide Service

Silver Show

| | |

Last week I guided down on the Lower Coquille near Bandon and the Rogue at Gold Beach. Believe it or not, there were more boats on the Coquille than the Rogue, but that may have been a weather-induced anomaly. We hit fish on both rivers, but for us it was pretty much a Silver show with no Chinook in the mix. We did lose a bruiser into some crab pots that may well have been a Chinook. We'll never know for sure. Before heading back North, I took a couple hours on Thursday to fun fish and experiment with some different gear on the Coquille. I hooked six chromers and (like a geek) managed to knock two big "Nooks" off right at the net while doing the one-man-band thing. Be sure and get out to enjoy the great Fall weather before the wet stuff sets in for good!
